Plus, PPNYC’s Political Action Team will provide the run down on what the brand new electeds mean for pro-choice politics. Gloria Feldt is the author of The War on Choice and Behind Every Choice Is a Story, a commentator for the Huffington Post and Women's eNews, and the former president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She has been named US Glamour's Woman of the Year and one of Vanity Fair's Top 200 Woman Legends, Leaders and Trailblazers. She blogs on and at Heartfeldt Politics. Lynn Harris is an author, essayist, commentator, mostly-retired comedian, and award-winning journalist. ASU Women of the World lecture features authors and activists Oct. 13

	Gloria Feldt was a teen mother who went on to become president and CEO of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the world's largest reproductive and sexual health care provider and advocacy organization. She is a best-selling author and activist whose commentary has appeared in the major news media. She was named "One of America's Top 200 Women Legends, Leaders and Trailblazers by Vanity Fair magazine. Her most recent book, co-authored with Kathleen Turner, is "Send Yourself Roses." She has also written "The War on Choice."
	Maria Teresa Kumar was named by Hispanic Magazine as one of the Top Latinas in Government and Politics. Kumar is the founding Executive Director of Voto Latino, a national organization which leveraged social media and celebrity power to raise the Latino vote five percent or more in the last election.
	Courtney E. Martin is an award-winning author and print and online journalist who is currently working on a book about ten people under 35 who are creating innovative social change. She is the award-winning author of "Perfect Girls, Starving Daughters: How the Quest for Perfection is Harming Young Women."
	Brittany L. Collins is an early-graduating senior in Women and Gender Studies at ASU where she will receive her bachelor's degree and a certificate in Arabic Studies. A Dean's Scholar, she was also awarded the 2009 Critical Language Scholarship for a summer of intensive Arabic study in Amman, Jordan.

Netroots Nation Panel: Building a Conversation Across Generations of Progressive Women

Pittsburgh, here I come! I've never been to a blogging conference, and lo and behold this summer I'm going to two of them: Blogher in Chicago July 24-26 and Netroots Nation August 13-16 in Pittsburgh. I plan on being a fly on the wall at Blogher, but will be speaking at Netroots--the place to be for all political junkies and especially those who blog about politics.

Since you know I'm into intergenerational femnist dialogue, you wont be surprised when I say I'm very excited to be part of a panel called "Building a Conversation Across Generations of Progressive Women". Along with some super champion bloggers--Joanne Cronrath Bamberger aka PundidMom, Jen Nedeau of Change.org, Emily McKhann of The Motherhood, and Tracy Viselli who blogs at Care2.

The panel description reads:

Progressive women were the key to Barack Obama's victory in 2008, but not all progressive women saw eye to eye on the Democratic campaign. Some felt Hillary Clinton was not treated fairly in the campaign, yet others felt differently. Feelings still run deep over who was the better candidate for progressives. Now that the election’s over, how do progressive women come together to work toward common goals and issues? Women from their 20s to 60s will discuss differences of opinion and talk about how they find common ground moving forward to promote and preserve the progressive agenda.

If you're going to Netroots, and I hope you are, please come to our panel and join in the conversation, no matter what generation you might be.
